Okay, I finally got around to trying to upload some screenshots to Google Photos and then share them here on the forums -- only to have the same problems others have experienced with them not displaying. So, I went on the hunt for how to fix this problem or find a completely different tool to use. Fortunately, I was able to find the specific problem and a fix, which I'll try to explain below before providing step-by-step instructions...
Apparently, the URLs generated by right-clicking an image and selecting the "Copy Image Location" or "Copy Image URL" option produces a URL that is too long and does not end in ".jpg" or ".png" for the browser to recognize it as a photo. Even using the "Get Link" feature provided by Google Photos doesn't end in either of those extensions. While its URL might be shorter, the lack of the extension also makes it unrecognizable.
So, I scoured the Google Photos forums for a fix and found it. I'm not sure why the URLs produced by the fix work and not the above because they don't end in either of the extensions either, BUT it works! It's a PITA that Google hasn't fixed the problem without having to use this workaround, but at least it's not a difficult process.
The trick is to use the Google URL Shortener (clickable link that you should bookmark) and shorten the URL produced by right-clicking the image and selecting Copy Image Location or Copy Image URL. Here are step-by-step instructions for how I got it to work in the forums:
So far, this is the only way I've seen that you can successfully share an image from Google Photos. If anyone has a better way or another photo storage/sharing tool they use (other than Dropbox because I don't find it very useful), please do let us know. Feel free to share that info here in this thread or you can create a new thread under the Get Organized board.

- Go to Google Photos and click on the photo you want to copy. This will open the image in a new tab.
- Go to the tab with the photo and copy the image URL in the address bar at top.
- Go to Google's URL Shortener (you can use the same tab and open the bookmarked link), paste the image URL in the box provided, and click the Shorten URL button.
- A pop-up will appear with the shortened URL, next to which is a button you click to copy it.
- Go to wherever you're wanting to insert the image and paste the shortened URL. For example, here in the forums, you would click the icon to insert an image and then paste the URL in the box provided.
