Welcome to eSellers Cafe!
We want everyone to enjoy visiting and participating in the forums, so the following guidelines are put in place to help protect the integrity of the forums as well as its members. The key word here is "professional" -- the manner in which every member must present themselves at all times.
Also, every member is subject to Proboards' Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, so be sure to read them carefully. ProBoards is the host of our wonderful community, providing the platform for us to come together, so their terms must be adhered to in order for us to continue having a home here.
If you would like to know more about the Cafe and its purpose, please read About eSellers Cafe.
Forum Guidelines
Be respectful and considerate of others at all times. We're all professional adults, so it should go without saying that you should treat everyone as you wish to be treated. Not everyone is going to agree on everything all the time, so keep any disagreements or debates friendly and professional, respecting the opinions of others while respectfully sharing our own.
If you have a serious problem with something someone posted, including the Administrator and any Moderators, you need to contact that person privately. Doing so on the boards will not be tolerated as it only causes an unnecessary stir for members who are not involved. If a problem with a Member or Moderator persists, please contact the Administrator to help you with the situation, if necessary.
Keep in mind that the written word can easily be misconstrued since we cannot always detect the proper tone or intention behind someone's words. So try giving the benefit of the doubt if you're reading something in a negative connotation and just view it in a positive light.
Absolutely no harassment of or personal attacks on any member will be tolerated. Keep in mind that such behavior is deemed by the federal government as an act of terrorism, punishable by law. So it is an offense serious enough to result in being temporarily or permanently banned from the group.
Banning members is not a pleasant experience, but neither is being harassed or attacked -- or even reading such an exchange. So, if you're upset about something, please refrain from posting until you've counted to 10, 100, 1000...whatever it takes. LOL A temporary banning is just a cooling off period and permanent banning is for serious or repeat offenders. The term of a banning is solely at the Administrator's discretion, but will be fairly based on the severity and/or frequency of the offense.
Absolutely no spam allowed! Yes, we provide a means for established members to promote their products and services in specific areas of the community, but that does not mean that we allow spam. Joining for the sole purpose of posting your spam will result in immediate banning -- no questions asked.
Any suggestions for new sites, tools, techniques, etc., should include detailed information so that members can make an informed decision about whether or not it would work for their business. If these details are not provided, either the post will be removed or details provided for you, whether by the Administrator, a Moderator, or another member who has prior experience or done the research. This is to protect members from making uninformed decisions and finding themselves in a bad situation as a result of taking someone else's suggestion on merit alone.
Any business-related information provided should include proven facts and sources for that information. An example includes changes Google has made to its Shopping feature or algorithm. This is to ensure that misinformation is not being shared and any misinformation discovered will be removed, which may require deleting parts of a post, a whole post, or an entire thread.
Always cite your sources. There is a plethora of information available on the web for us to share and learn from. While it is freely available, that does not mean that someone doesn't own the rights to it. So, if you're sharing someone else's work, please always include the link to the source page(s), including if you're sharing original content posted on these forums. Not only is it copyright law, it is common courtesy to give the owner proper credit.
Contact Nicole via Private Message (PM) with any suggestions or concerns you might have by simply clicking the Contact Us link in the fourth box at the top-right of every page. We want your time here to be a pleasant and productive experience, so we're open to any thoughts you might have.
Okay I think that covers it! So, again, welcome to the Cafe! We look forward to getting to know you. As a matter of fact, why not Introduce Yourself! -- simply click the link to be taken to that board.
