Sorry took me a while to recover the password and user ID for this site..I could not find it written in my book, and the site uses those stupid visual codes that I cannot see...took forever, to finally get back in
You all do know that the site automatically changes all upc's to gtins...pretty much all sites do
So don't put gtin in the upc spot and don't use the checkbox for not having the information, because if you are adding the upc then you do have the information and you are messing up your feed
And to convert a upc to a gtin just add 2 zeros to the beginning
upc:630509265596 gtin:00630509265596
As long as your item has the 12 upc..it is converted
If it has the upc-E or 8 digit number then it is converted to upc or gtin by adding zeros to the beginning to get to 12 or 14 digits

Good point, cindybear. If I remember right, the ISBN is also converted if no UPC is provided. At least that's the way I think it works on eCrater. I haven't done anything with my attributes on eCrater, yet, but everything is getting fed to GPS just find. I actually made a small sale over the weekend there. By the way, Cindy...glad you found your way back!

FYI regarding the GTIN attribute requirement... eCrater admin posted some details about the requirement that Google will start enforcing on September 15th that will spare us a LOT of work. Apparently, both the GTIN and brand attributes will only be required on NEW products from the list of brands at the following link: support.google.com/merchants/answer/6239390So, I basically just wasted a lot of time getting those added for my used items. LOL Oh well, at least that attribute is there now for those items and I only got through the ornaments before finding this out, but that includes about 50 listings alone. I know I already have the UPC added for several items, which I believe eCrater converts to a GTIN in the feed, but I don't have any items from that list of brands -- at least nothing that is new. So I'm moving on to other projects.

I happily was able to skip right over quite a few listings. I noticed this the other day. It is not as bad as it appears at first sight thank God.
We should keep an eye on the list of brands because they say more brands will be added. But I strongly feel we do not have to worry about it when it comes to brands that are no longer doing business or businesses that have changed their name like with Homco, for example.
