There's a discussion going on over at the eCrater forums about strange messages some of us have been getting about why listings are getting disapproved. In my case, I've had six new listings disapproved -- 5 due to "image_link_pending_crawl" and 1 because I accidentally left a zero out of its UPC (dang typos). One of those image-related listings I sold on Etsy yesterday and hid it on eCrater, adding "SOLD" to the beginning of the title.
There were five other listings that were apparently disapproved last October and December that were never brought to my attention. They were all from the same batch I entered at once and were missing their UPCs. I'm not sure why because I always enter that info when I list it. They each had their brand and MPN attributes, but not their UPCs, so I guess it was just an oversight on my part.
Now, that's what I found when filtering by "Disapproved from Google". It's a good thing I decided to check out what the "Google Quality" filter was all about because that's where you find every listing that has an error, whether approved or disapproved. That's when I found two additional listings from that same batch missing UPCs, but they were approved. So I fixed them all and can only hope that those five will get approved now since they've apparently been on the disapproved list for so long.
Here's the crazy thing that eCrater sellers should be aware of...don't rely on what the dashboard page says when you first log in. When I logged in tonight, it told me that I had ONE listing disapproved because it had an incorrect GTIN, but not one of the above listings was mentioned. Guess which one was? A book set I had deleted the week we had our garage sale because it ended up going to charity. When I clicked to edit the product, it told me "You are trying to edit non-existing product."
That's what prompted me to check for disapproved listings using the filter, but I wouldn't have been aware of all errors if I hadn't thought to filter by the "Google Quality" option. The thing is, this is the FIRST notice I've gotten at log in about anything being disapproved and it was a non-existing product it was reporting on.
So I strongly recommend every eCrater seller filter products by "Google Quality" to see if you have any errors and fix them because Google is obviously cracking down this holiday season. If you sell anywhere else that requires any work on your part to have listings submitted to Google Shopping, you should be sure that everything is copacetic.
