Are you talking about in Google organic search results? I just tried searching for several items in Google organic that nobody had a match for and didn't see any list of like items -- not even from Bonz when I added "Bonanza" to the search terms. I know they all do it in Google Shopping, though. Actually had it come up yesterday in organic search for amazon. The word was "similar" items to what I searched..when I clicked on it, the item was out of stock on Amazon, but they showed me a long list of similar items...I believe the same that comes up on bonz when they search does not return any items..I took a screenshot, but somehow lost it..and the same results did not come up a second time..

You know, I have to wonder if that's considered an ad. I have my adblocker turned on, so don't see ads. Maybe that's why I'm no longer seeing those blocks of similar items in organic searches. I'll have to keep my eye out for those in the future. I could turn adblocker off and test it, but I'm busy working on my site today. I just realized that this is the first time I've even checked in here today. LOL

I just saw Marianna's post about eBay being sneaky. I, too, have come across those sneaky eBay search results that look like they're for an individual listing, but you're either taken to a category page or a page that says the item is no longer available, providing similar items. Of course, I rarely find what I'm looking for on either.

It's all Greek to me. LOL I have never used Google AdWords, nor have I given much thought to Google Shopping since they started getting ridiculous with attributes. However, the article does say this change is supposed to benefit small- and medium-sized businesses by gaining more exposure, but they've said that about Google changes before and it doesn't always pan out that way.
