As I'm going through my shop to make sure everything is copacetic, I'm reminded that I need to find another way to make it clearer to customers that they don't need a PayPal account to securely shop my store. Yes, I have the blurb on my FAQ page, which may or may not get read. I also have the brief note "PayPal Account Not Required" that is clearly displayed on every page of my shop. However, what about those who have an aversion to PayPal altogether? How do I convince them? So, that got me to thinking that I should do a blog article with screenshots on the subject. I was also thinking of adding a page to my shop with checkout instructions that clearly showed how to use the option, but I think I just had a better idea... I'm going to include a "More Info" link directly beneath "PayPal Account Not Required" that leads to my blog post. That way, not only will they get specific enough instructions for using the direct checkout option, but they'll also see a more detailed explanation as to why I only offer PayPal. Plus, it's also a good way to get them to my blog. Anywho, here's the article's link...let me know whatcha think...purdy please? LOL

I think that was an exceptional idea lol and I'm not kidding or trying to boost your ego.
My only suggestion would be to make the images just a little larger since I have a hard time seeing nowadays. You probably will not want to do this with the last image since the text within the image takes up more space as it stands right now....

Thanks! Just trying to make less work for myself, especially after realizing that last night's work wasn't the way to go. LOL I have the two biggest images set to x-large and the middle one set to large. I'll have to manually play around with the sizes because I don't want them scrolling across the page.

I am having a hard time seeing, Nicole. I'm sure most people will go get their glasses but I happen to lose mine all the time.

Okie dokie...finalized that article...finally. LOL Since I decided to link to it from my site so customers can see how to check out as a guest, I changed up the wording a bit so it's geared more towards my customers rather than the general public. However, it's still worded in a way that addresses the general public. I just got through adding the "more info" link below the PayPal logo on my site. I also reworded that portion of the FAQ page and added the link there. It's actually linked to three times within that section, so they're sure to hover over it at some point -- or are at least more likely to do so. LOL Check it out: purpleirisplaza.com/faq (you can also see the link below the logo on that page). About the images, I found out that it had a fixed height set for each, which I did not put there. I only set either the width or the height of images (not both) so it will automatically resize them without distorting them. I know the first image was a little distorted as a result, but it's fixed now. I just set the width of the first image to 100% and the other two at 75%. Are they easier to read, @tam ?

I had a customer just email me about seeing Paypal on their receipt even though they used a visa to checkout, so I do definitely have this set up so that customers can checkout using a visa or master card, though it does concern me that a shopper felt slightly alarmed at this.....so I believe I am doing the right thing by adding Propay.

The eCrater customer who ordered the snow globe, but her payment didn't go through the first time, was also confused when I mentioned that I double-checked PayPal to see if it had gone through. She wasn't alarmed, just confused because she had used the guest checkout with her credit card. I explained to her that PayPal simply provides the guest checkout service, but it still goes through her credit card company, and she was okay with that.
So, I think it's in how you explain it to them. Using the guest checkout feature, not only do they have the buyer protection through PayPal, but also their credit card company. So they're doubly protected. Of course, if they only use their credit card on a PayPal account rather than a PayPal balance or bank transfer, the same applies.
