Noooooooooooo!! I just recently decided to solely use Picasa instead of Photobucket and they want to discontinue it? I've never even heard of Google Photos. All of my blogs images are located there, so how will those be affected? I'm not even sure what else I have linked to there...shop banners, logos...? While I know the images will still be there, it looks like it's going to take some work to make sure they're still appearing on whatever web pages I have them on. My other even bigger issue is how am I going to be able to use my phone to take product images now? Am I going to have to download another app like Photobucket that's going to keep turning on my WiFi and eating up my battery? I just got that issue fixed and now this. What a freakin' PITA!

If I read the article correctly I think your Picasa photos will be sent to Google Photos. Don't know the answer to your other questions. Sorry.

Yeah, but will I have to do anything like change the image URLs to make sure they're still appearing? I'm working on finishing up my filing this weekend and I've got a lot of other stuff going on offline, so I'll have to check out the Google forums when I have more time.
One thing I'm considering is downloading the Picasa app to my laptop so I can make sure I have access to what I have online -- the albums and such, but I have to make sure I get that done prior to the March deadline.
They do say it will work just as it did before, but you won't be able to edit photos. If editing is the only feature they're doing away with, then hopefully I won't have any issues and I can still use my phone to upload photos and then download them to my computer for editing.
