You know how we've always used the same easy submission tool Google (and other search engines) have provided, but they no longer seem to exist. When I go to the old link to submit my eCrater shop to Google organic, it's requiring me to either submit a site map, which I don't have, or go through the Google Search Console.
So, I am doing the latter, but it requires you to verify ownership of the domain. That would seem to mean that we can no longer submit our marketplace shops -- unless we have a domain directly attached to them like I do for my eCrater shop. I was able to verify ownership of the custom domain via my domain provider, but can't even verify eCrater's version of the URL using the Google Analytics method because eCrater doesn't include the required coding in the HTML header.
Anywho, before I go full-on-geek and very thoroughly confuse you (LOL), I'd have to say that Google is playing a major role in this slump many are experiencing. Earlier this year, I was finding my eCrater shop's listings in organic searches under both eCrater's version of the URL and my custom domain, but they have completely disappeared. I can't even get it to find them by adding my shop name at the end of the title.
I've found a few of my Etsy listings on the second page, but absolutely no Etsy marketplace links were to be found. My Etsy listings used to outrank the marketplace links -- both being on the first page. However, my eCrater listings used to outrank both and my custom domain links were moving on up, being found either at the bottom of the first page or somewhere on the second.
So, I don't know what Google has done, but I'm trying to get my eCrater shop back in organic searches. It would certainly explain why I haven't had a sale there since May. I could care less about Etsy, but it IS my better producer of sales and even it has been failing miserably. Prior to May, eCrater was starting to give my Etsy shop a run for its money.
Anywho, so I'm using the Google Search Console to at least get my custom domain out there. It requires a verification process and apparently a site inspection process. I've just started reading about it tonight, so am thoroughly confused myself. It doesn't help that it's 1:30a, so I'm going to look into it more later. I just wanted y'all to know what I discovered.

Note: The above link is to the NEW version, which is still in beta. I just discovered it, so haven't attempted looking for any info on the current version that's still in operation. Either way, it would seem to be another great (and free) way to monitor various info related to our shops -- once you figure it all out, that is.
