as you can see the third is quite a few characters shorter (also note the more subcategories or search terms, the longer the link)..

(I just go down the list and get the title and link and move to excel..then work on it)

Then I use the URL shortener option in my TweetAdder (I use bit.ly...you sign up for an account and it gives you key to put in you TweetAdder)..so it becomes bit.ly/1kA5NJ2

3. I do not have photos for ALL my items yet (this one does)...still working on it..so this tweet is now stored in my excel spread sheet with #s for keywords like children, books, Disney, reader... and when I am ready to make a tweet list I transfer to Notepad..

Sometimes I have to drop a few of the #'s once the pic link is added if there are not enough characters

I also have a separate Notepad file for recipes (with shortened URL's), cool quotes, interesting facts and websites of interest, to mix in with the item tweets...

With regards to what is above...I don't use Presto's "Get Link" option because you will get a url that shows "Presto" in it, rather than one that shows your "store name". Remember, it's all about branding. Real people read these tweets.

Even though you take the time to shorten the link, your url will show on Twitter with your store name. The purpose of shortening your link is so that you can have "ONE LINE" tweets on your notepad.

Here is an example of some of my tweets. Notice how short the URLS are after using the "Copy Link Address" on Twitter to capture a shortened link:

I don't store my pictures on my computer. I have way to much going on with research projects and it takes too long to access them in other files or USB's so it's easier for me just to copy a picture already associated to my listing, meaning from the listing itself.

The get link does use presto.....but you can replace the presto part with your store name..Which I mentioned in the next post...so the get link is...

but what I tweet is:

So as you can see my store name as well as my USER ID (which is also my twitter ID) are both tweeted...also...if for some reason the item is re-categorized...then by using just the above instead of the link with the categories or search parameters, it does not become a dead link...the above link will always be good as long as the listing exists in my store...no matter how I change or update the listing...or if I decide to re-categorize....

Photos....I just like keeping them on my computer...and since they are tagged..they are easy to find...also, since I know I have not yet changed the URL (re-uploaded) many of my presto pictures yet..they still have the bonanza URL...so for now, my preference is uploading directly to twitter and grabbing the twitter pic link...

We all do it the way that is easiest for us.. this is just easier for me...and I am sure that others have other methods and will work out shortcuts for themselves as they get experience

Yep, I understand. Do what is easiest for you.

I just don't want anyone to get confused over the process which is really simple once you do a few. Then they can try different ways once they learn the process. I'm big on the statement "There is a reason for everything", and I have learned after doing thousands of tweets that some parts of the process are very important, so do what you have to to make them get the best bang for their buck.

Tweeting is not done just to boost listings on Google, it's main purpose is to connect with other people. I talk to so many people each day from all over the world, in many languages (Thank goodness for Google Translate) and many of my followers actually look for my tweets. I prefer using Twitter over any other social media because you don't get dragged into lengthy conversations. I barely have time for that because I'm getting over a thousand re-tweets each day.

Brand yourself every way possible. It's what your followers will remember most. YOUR NAME.

Just posting an update. Tweetadder is no longer a usable service. After 8 years, Twitter denied their API and shut them down. There are other programs out there you can use, searching "Tweetadder" on Twitter will reveal those other sources. Personally, I am successfully using Tweetjukebox since May.

Also, is this thread no longer applicable? If not, I should delete it -- unless there's something usable within it that would apply to some other non-Tweetadder aspect. I mean, it is about creating a database, so maybe it is still useful. I'm completely unfamiliar with the Twitter stuff, so just let me know.
