As some of us have been discussing on the boards this week, it has been decided to add two new boards for members to post their product ads for FREE! So, as you will see on the Home page under the Cafe Classifieds section, a new category has been added -- Shop -- under which you'll find the:
Featured Products by Category board for established members to post their products in the appropriate categories. Of course, there are certain guidelines to follow, so, prior to posting any ads, please read Seller Guidelines for Posting Featured Product Ads (pinned to the top of that board).
Weekly Deals & Steals board for established members to post their special offers and sales events. Only discounted items, other discounts or special offers can be posted to this board. For more info about how to use this board, please read Seller Guidelines for Posting Your Weekly Deals (pinned to the top of that board) prior to posting any ads.
The policy for posting to either board is that you must be an established member. For the purpose of these boards, an established member is defined as one who has logged in and posted to the non-promotional boards at least once a month for three consecutive months. We don't want members joining just to spam peeps. We've had more than a few of those -- they join, post their ad, and are never to be heard from again. So, this is the reason for such a policy.
Another important policy is that all dead links must be removed to protect the integrity of the site's search ranking. It won't help anyone promoting their products here if the site or the product category threads lose their search ranking due to too many dead links. So links to products that are no longer available must be removed in a timely manner. If you prefer, you may even replace it with another product that IS available.
While management will be keeping the Weekly Deals board clean of old threads, members will have to keep up with their listings on the Featured Products board. Those who don't could temporarily lose their ad-posting privileges and repeat offenders may permanently lose the privilege.
Yes, it's important enough to have consequences to suffer. LOL We're talking about the site's ability to be seen in search engines -- not to mention your individual ads. This is a way for members to advertise their products for free, so let's not ruin a good thing for our fellow members -- or yourself.
So, while I finish getting the boards set up, please excuse the Directory Host for hogging the boards. LOL Once I'm done, I'll bump the latest threads peeps have been participating in to the top of the Recently Updated Threads list.
